Antisemitic graffiti was scrawled over the window of a Forest Hills dental office Saturday.
The hate-filled words “F… Jews” were scribbled in black marker pen on the front window of a dental clinic at 68-55 Harrow Street, according to a photo shared on twitter by Council Member Lynn Schulman.
“This antisemitic graffiti was found by a local Rabbi after Shabbat tonight,” Schulman wrote. “I have referred this to the Commanding Officer of @NYPD112Pct and @NYPDHateCrimes, & they are investigating. There is no place for this disgusting antisemitic vandalism anywhere.”
Rabbi Ashie Schreier, who discovered the graffiti at around 7 p.m. while out for a walk with his young son, told CBSNY that he was shocked seeing it.
““Something just caught my eye and I looked over and was extremely disappointed in what I saw,” Schreier said. “My son, who is 6, who recently learned how to read, started asking me some new questions. I was just explaining, unfortunately, there’s a lot of hate out there.”
Several elected officials released a statement condemning the graffiti.
“This antisemitic graffiti found Saturday night has no place in Queens or anywhere in our society,” wrote Rep. Grace Meng, State Sen. Joseph Addabbo, Asm. Andrew Hevesi and Schulman. “Our offices have been in contact with the 112th precinct and the NYPD hate crimes unit and we will stand united with our Jewish community.”
The perpetrator had not been arrested as of Monday morning, police said.
