The team, based in Jamaica, Queens, often reaches out to residents in surrounding Queens neighborhoods to get involved in charitable events, outreach activities, community get-togethers and fundraisers. Tom Suozzi (D-Glen Cove) has defeated Nassau County Legislator Mazi Melesa Pilip (R-Great Neck) in the special election to replace disgraced former Rep. George Santos in New York’s third congressional district. The Associated Press declared Suozzi the winner shortly after 10 p.m. The third district covers the neighborhoods of Little Neck, Whitestone, Glen Oaks, Floral Park and Queens Village in northeast Queens, as well as the entirety of the Towns of North Hempstead and Oyster Bay. Council Member Sandra Ung opens new office in Flushing

Feb. 13, 2024 By Rachel Butler Council Member Sandra Ung, who represents Flushing and surrounding areas, officially opened her new office at 136-21 Latimer Pl. with a ribbon cutting ceremony on Monday Feb. 12. The council member’s office used to be located in downtown Flushing on 38th Avenue. That office had also been used by previous council members and had been in operation since 2001.
