Briarwood Man Fatally Stabs Girlfriend in His 85th Road Apartment: NYPD

A Forest Hills woman was stabbed to death during a dispute with her boyfriend in Briarwood Tuesday, according to police.

Mindy Singer, 35, who lived on the Grand Central Parkway service road, was stabbed multiple times by her boyfriend in his 141-13 85th Road apartment in Briarwood yesterday, according to police.

Officers from the 107th precinct were called to his apartment at around 1:40 p.m. where they found her deceased at the scene. According to reports, Singer had multiple stab wounds to the body and had a sword lodged into her buttocks.

Peter Ikonomou, 37, was arrested last night and charged with murder, assault and criminal possession of a weapon.

A 72-year-old man was pistol-whipped during an armed robbery at the Soul Deli in St. Albans on the night of Thursday, May 1, and the perpetrator remains at large weeks later.

Police from the 103rd Precinct in Jamaica responded to the scene at 203-01 Hollis Avenue and found the wounded senior bloodied and battered inside the Black-owned deli, known across Southeast Queens for its hospitality and soul food.
