Brooklyn motorcyclist killed by hit-and-run driver after falling from bike in Springfield Gardens: NYPD

A Brooklyn man was struck and killed by a hit-and-run driver in Springfield Gardens early Sunday morning after he wiped out on his motorcycle on the Belt Parkway, according to the NYPD.

Police from the 105th Precinct in Queens Village responded to a 911 call of a vehicle collision on the Belt Parkway in the vicinity of Springfield Boulevard at around 1:18 a.m. on Nov. 5. Upon their arrival, officers discovered Mohammed Hoque, 23, of Grant Avenue in Cypress Hills, unconscious on the roadway with trauma to his head and body. EMS responded to the scene and pronounced him dead.

A preliminary investigation by the NYPD Highway District’s Collision Investigation Squad determined that Hoque was riding a gray 2008 Yamaha motorcycle westbound on the Belt Parkway when he failed to navigate the roadway and crashed into the center divider wall causing him to fall into the roadway. Moments later, Hoque was struck by an unknown vehicle that was traveling westbound on the Belt Parkway that sped away from the scene, according to the NYPD. There have been no arrests and the investigation remains ongoing.
