A fire tore through several businesses in Woodside just after midnight Sunday morning leading to the evacuation of several residents who were in apartments located above the stores.

Firefighters responded to a blaze that broke out in the basement of Texas Chicken and Pizza, a fast-food restaurant located at 64-01 Broadway.

The fire quickly spread into two adjacent businesses – a barbershop and a liquor store.

The FDNY sent out about 25 units and more than 100 firefighters to extinguish the blaze.

Video footage shows smoke billowing out the front of the fast-food restaurant while firefighters could be seen entering through the front of the liquor store to put out the flames.

Residents living on the second floor of the two-story buildings were forced out of their homes. At least three people suffered minor injuries as a result of the fire.

The FDNY tweeted at 1:38 a.m. that the fire was under control.

The Fire Marshal will ultimately determine the cause of the fire and an investigation is ongoing, the FDNY said.
