The 2020 season for a Flushing farmers market kicks off Wednesday.

The Flushing Greenmarket will launch its fifth season at Maple Playground, located at 136-50 Maple Ave. in downtown Flushing tomorrow at 8 a.m.

The market will run every Wednesday through Nov. 25 and provides residents with access to fresh produce from regional farms.

Shoppers can visit the market at Maple Playground between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. each Wednesday.

The greenmarket typically offers weekly cooking demos, family-friendly activities and seasonal celebrations. These activities, however, have been postponed to a later date because of the coronavirus pandemic.

The Flushing Greenmarket was launched at Maple Playground in the summer of 2016 by GrowNYC with the support of the Greater Flushing Chamber of Commerce.

GrowNYC operates markets across the five boroughs, with the goal of preserving local farmland and providing New Yorkers with access to fresh, healthy food.
