Group of Men Attack E-Bike Rider in Jackson Heights, Take His Bike

The police are looking for five men wanted for attacking a 40-year-old man and stealing his e-bike in Jackson Heights last month.

The NYPD released photos of two of the suspects today in connection to the robbery that took place on the corner of Roosevelt Avenue and 74th Street on Friday, Jan. 1 at around 11:30 p.m.

The suspects allegedly punched and kicked the victim in the face. They then took his e-bike, valued at $1,200, as well as his iPhone SX valued at $700.

One of the unidentified men fled on the e-bike; the others left the scene on foot. The victim, who suffered pain and swelling to his face, was treated at the scene by EMS.

One of the five civilians rescued by the FDNY from a 2-alarm house fire in College Point on Friday morning was arrested later in the day for allegedly starting the blaze in his first-floor apartment.

Jonathan Mejia, 33, was arraigned in Queens Criminal Court on Tuesday, Sept. 16 on a complaint charging him with arson in the first degree, four counts of attempted murder in the second degree and other related charges.
