A teacher at a Jackson Heights middle school has been arrested for sexually abusing a minor under the age of 13.

David Reinoso, a teacher at I.S. 145 Joseph Pulitzer, located at 33-34 80th St., was arrested by New York State police Friday and charged with sexual abuse and endangering the welfare of a child, according to authorities.

Reinoso, 43, who lives in Suffern in Rockland County, allegedly had sexual contact with the minor in South Blooming Grove in Orange County.

It is unclear when the alleged incident took place, or whether the victim is a pupil at the school.

A spokesperson for the New York City Dept. of Education said that Reinoso is no longer in contact with students. He was immediately reassigned, and his employment status is pending the outcome of the case.

“This alleged conduct is deeply unsettling… if he is convicted, we will pursue his termination,” said Sarah Casasnovas, a spokesperson for the DOE.

Reinoso has been a teacher at the I.S. 145 Joseph Pulitzer since 2010 and has worked for the DOE since 2004, Casasnovas said.
