A local non-profit organization is hosting a Three Kings Day celebration Thursday at Blessed Sacrament Church in Jackson Heights.
The event, which is for families with children ages 4-10, is being organized by AAFE, a community development organization dedicated to advancing social and economic justice for Asian Americans and other ethnic groups.
The event will feature gifts, entertainment and food, and is a part of a series of public events that AAFE provides to the Jackson Heights community. The organization offers an array of free services in Spanish, Chinese and Bengali, including housing counseling for low-income tenants, access to essential government social services, immigration counseling and small business assistance.
Partners for this event include State Sen. Jessica Ramos, City Council member Shekar Krishnan, Voces Latinas, Communities Resist, 34th Avenue Open Streets, Elmhurst Hospital, the New York City Commission on Human Rights and Commonpoint Queens.
Blessed Sacrament Church is located at 34-43 93rd St. in Jackson Heights, with the event taking place from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. There will be churros and hot chocolate, performances by a local children’s choir, a gift giveaway (registration is required and supplies are limited). AAFE and other neighborhood organizations will also be providing information about free services available in the community.
