Long Island City Man Who Was Shot Last Month Has Died: NYPD

A Long Island City man who was shot in the stomach last month has died, police announced today.

George Rosa, 53, was shot at approximately 11:20 a.m. on Saturday, July 25 in front of 21-19 40th Ave– two blocks from where he lived. He was transported to Elmhurst Hospital at the time and succumbed to his injuries Tuesday.

Rosa, according to published reports, was shot while walking his dog. The Daily News reported that the suspects fled to Queensbridge Houses after the incident.

No arrests have been made and the investigation is ongoing.
