A man was killed after a tree fell onto his car in Briarwood during Tropical Storm Isaias Tuesday.

The man, who is believed to be in his 60s, was sitting in his parked car on the corner of Smedley Street and 84th Avenue at around 2.10 p.m. when the massive tree came crashing down, police said.

The tree landed on top of his white-colored vehicle. Cops said the man died at the scene.

The man’s name has not yet been released pending family notification. No other details were released by police.

Minutes later a woman in Brooklyn was critically injured when a tree fell and struck her in the head outside the Tilden Houses in Brownsville, police said.

The woman was walking outside 340 Dumont Avenue when the accident happened at around 2:12 p.m. police said.

Tropical Storm Isaias battered the city with torrential rains and high winds Tuesday afternoon, toppling many trees and causing power outages.

The winds in New York Harbor sustained nearly 60 miles per hour, with gusts up to 75 miles per hour, according to the National Hurricane Center.

The MTA suspended above-ground subway services for a period of time as trees and other debris fell onto tracks in several locations in Queens, Brooklyn and the Bronx, the MTA stated.
