A 48-year-old man was punched, kicked and bitten while on a train at the Steinway Street station last week—after a dispute at a beauty store near the entrance to the station became violent.

The incident began when the victim got into an argument with a woman inside Hello Beauty, a retail store located at 32-21 Steinway St., at around 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 7. The dispute escalated and the woman struck the victim with an umbrella.

When the victim exited the store, the woman followed him to the subway station, at which point two unidentified men appeared. The men then approached the 48-year-old from behind on the train and assaulted him.

The victim sustained bruising, swelling, scratches, and bite marks.

The police have released photos of the suspects.

Anyone with information in regard to this incident is asked to call the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or, for Spanish, 1-888-57-PISTA (74782). The public can also submit their tips by logging onto the Crime Stoppers website at https://crimestoppers.nypdonline.org/ or on Twitter @NYPDTips.
