Man Punches 64-Year-Old Woman in the Head Onboard M Train, Steals Her Handbag: NYPD

The police are looking for a man who allegedly punched a 64-year-old woman in the head while onboard an M train in Ridgewood and stole her handbag.

The suspect approached the woman at around 3:15 p.m. on Nov. 18 while onboard the train that was approaching the Seneca Avenue subway station.

The man allegedly tried to grab her handbag but when she attempted to flee the train as it entered the station, the suspect pulled her back and punched her in the head.

The thief then disembarked at the Myrtle Avenue / Wyckoff Avenue subway station and fled with the victim’s bag.

EMS responded and transported the victim to an area hospital for contusions on her head. The police released video of the suspect.

Disbarred attorney Anyekache Hercules was sentenced Friday in Queens Supreme Court to one-and-a-half to three years in prison for her role in a deed theft crew that stole homes in St. Albans and Jamaica that were owned by elderly or disabled Southeast Queens residents or their families.

New York Attorney General Letitia James announced that Hercules assisted the leader of the crew, Marcus Wilcher, and his associates in stealing and selling three homes, which yielded more than $1 million in illegal profits. Hercules pleaded guilty in May to Scheme to Defraud in the first degree.
