Man Robs Astoria Liquor Store, Threatens to Shoot Employee: NYPD

A man robbed an Astoria liquor store Wednesday after threatening to shoot an employee.

The suspect entered 34 Avenue Liquors, located at 40-15 34th Avenue, before approaching a 35-year-old female employee and demanding cash.

The man indicated that he had a gun in his jacket pocket and threatened to shoot the woman if she didn’t hand over the money. The employee complied and gave the suspect $450 from the register.

The perpetrator fled the scene on foot westbound on 34 Avenue and entered the Steinway Street “M/R” subway station.

The suspect is described as a light-skinned male with a mustache. He was seen wearing a black knit cap, black sunglasses, a blue surgical mask, black gloves, a black hooded coat, blue jeans and black sneakers.
