A 24-year-old man was shot dead at a subway station in Jamaica Monday afternoon after getting into a dispute with the alleged perpetrator.

Marcus Bethea, of Brooklyn, was fatally shot at around 4:30 p.m. near a token booth inside the Archer Avenue/Parsons Boulevard subway station after he got into an argument with the suspect.

The dispute, according to police, quickly turned physical. During the fight, the alleged perpetrator pulled out a gun and fired multiple rounds hitting Bethea in the stomach.

Bethea was taken to nearby Jamaica Hospital by EMS, where he was pronounced dead.

The firearm was recovered at the scene, according to Chief of Transit Jason Wilcox, who spoke during a press conference held by police at the station.

The suspect remains at large.

Wilcox said the NYPD was reviewing the cameras inside the station and witnesses were also being interviewed by detectives.
