Man sought for shooting a man in his groin area in Queens Village: NYPD

An argument on a Queens Village street on Friday night exploded into violence when one of the men pulled out a handgun and allegedly blasted another man in his groin area, according to authorities.

Police from the 105th Precinct in Queens Village reported that the shooting incident began in front of 215-22 99th Ave. at around 10:18 on the night of May 5, when the 25-year-old victim began shouting at another man.

The dispute escalated into violence when the gunman pulled out his firearm and allegedly fired a shot that struck the victim once in his groin area, police said. The gunman ran away from the scene southbound on 215th Street toward Hollis Avenue.

EMS responded to the scene and rushed the victim to North Shore Community Hospital in Manhasset, where he was listed in stable condition, police said.

The NYPD released surveillance video of the suspect as he walked away from the scene and described him as having a medium complexion.

He was wearing a dark jacket over a dark shirt, ripped blue jeans and dark shoes.

A Ridgewood mother and daughter were arrested Monday after they ambushed a young Black woman who tried to park her car in a spot in front of their apartment building that they frequently cordon off with garbage cans and traffic cones.

A family friend was standing at the northeast corner of Onderdonk Avenue and Putnam Avenue at around 7:30 p.m. when the 21-year-old Jada McPherson tried to park her car in the spot. The man placed a garbage can in her way. She drove off and circled the block multiple times. She tried to pull into the same spot one more time, but the man tried to stop her again. McPherson got out of her car to confront him, and an argument ensued.
