Jan. 22, 2021 By Allie Griffin

Police are searching for a suspect tied to a string of commercial burglaries in Flushing.

The suspect — a man believed to be in his 20s — has burglarized seven businesses in the neighborhood since mid-December, according to police. He has allegedly stolen thousands of dollars of cash and electronics during his crime spree.

The thief first broke into a Starbucks at 41-02 Main St. on Dec. 12 around 4 a.m. and took about $1,200 from the register, police said. He then hit two more businesses the same morning.

He damaged the front door of a daycare located at 132-06 Maple Ave. a half hour later, but left empty-handed. About an hour after that, the suspect broke into a restaurant at 40-09 Prince St. and fled with $1,000 worth of cash and electronics.

Then on Dec. 23, the man stole $100 from a cash register inside a bakery at 136-85 41st Ave. at 12:30 a.m., police said.

He burglarized another bakery, located at 37-25 Main St., on Jan. 2 at 1 a.m. He broke in through the front door and removed about $400 before running off, police said.

The suspect struck again just days later on Jan. 9. He stole $2,600 worth of cash and electronics from a cell phone store located at 135-37 40th Rd. around 8 p.m.

Two days later, the man broke into a restaurant at 59-10 Main St. around 12:40 a.m. and ran off with $80 from the register, police said.

Anyone with information in regard to this incident is asked to call the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or for Spanish, 1-888-57-PISTA (74782). Flushing cops must be the dumbest of the the bunch. This guy has been hanging out in front of them for months and they can’t even catch him.
