Man’s Face Slashed in Anti-Gay Attack in Jackson Heights: NYPD

A 34-year-old man was slashed across the face in an apparent anti-gay attack in Jackson Heights Tuesday.

The victim was outside a building on 77th Street near 37th Road at around 3:10 a.m. when he got into an argument with another man, police said.

The argument escalated and the suspect took out a sharp object and slashed the 34-year-old across the face. He shouted anti-gay statements at the victim before running off, according to police.

The victim was cut on his left cheek and was taken to Elmhurst Hospital in stable condition.

The NYPD Hate Crimes Task Force is investigating the assault.

The NYPD described the suspect as a dark-skinned adult male with a medium build and short black hair. He was last seen wearing a white collared shirt, black pants and black shoes and carrying a black Adidas bag.
