Mob of Teens Jump 44-Year-Old Man Out Walking Dog in Middle Village Friday Night

Suspects 1 and 2 (NYPD)

July 26, 2021 By Allie Griffin

A group of teens jumped a 44-year-old man who was out walking his dog in Middle Village Friday night.

Dozens of teenagers were setting off fireworks and yelling at the corner of 75th Street and Juniper Boulevard North, near Juniper Valley Park when the man — reportedly an off-duty firefighter — confronted them about the noise just before 10 p.m.

The teens argued with the man and then began throwing punches, police said.

Videos posted to social media and obtained by the New York Post show several of the teenagers push the 44-year-old to the ground and repeatedly punch and kick him.

The unnamed victim told the Post that there were at least a hundred kids near the park and one of them hit him in the back of the head with a glass bottle.

The teens ran off when an ambulance pulled up to the scene, the videos show. The victim refused medical attention despite suffering bruising, cuts and pain, police said.

The NYPD has released photos and descriptions of three of the teens who were involved in the assault.

Police said one suspect is a male with a light complexion, thin build and long dark hair. He was last seen wearing a black T-shirt, shorts and sneakers.

The NYPD described a second suspect as a male with a light complexion, medium build and short straight hair. He was last seen wearing a black T-shirt, light-colored shorts and white sneakers.

Police said a third suspect is a male with a light complexion, thin build and short straight hair. He was last seen wearing a grey t-shirt, Nike shorts and white sneakers.

Anyone with information in regard to this incident is asked to call the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or for Spanish, 1-888-57-PISTA (74782).
