A man is dead after the moped he was driving collided with a car in Jackson Heights early Monday.

Tyrell Davis, 31, was riding his gas-powered moped at a high rate of speed through the intersection at 75th Street and 32nd Avenue at around 1:20 a.m. when he lost control of his vehicle and smashed into a Mercedes Benz sedan, police said.

The victim, of 94th Street in Jackson Heights, was traveling westbound on 32nd Avenue when he plowed into the rear driver’s side door of the 2005 Mercedes.

The Mercedes driver was heading southbound on 75th Street when his vehicle was struck by the moped, police said.

The moped driver suffered severe head injuries and was transported to NYC Health + Hospitals/ Elmhurst where he was pronounced dead, the NYPD said.

The victim was not wearing a helmet, cops said.

The Mercedes driver, a 52-year-old man, remained at the scene and was not injured. The NYPD did not say which driver had the light.

The investigation is ongoing by the NYPD Highway Collision Investigation Squad.

The NYPD did not provide any further details.
