More Than 20 Queens Restaurants Are Offering Deals During NYC Restaurant Week Beginning Tuesday

New York City Restaurant Week returns next Tuesday with deals at local eateries across the city including more than 20 in Queens.

More than 400 restaurants throughout the five boroughs are participating in Restaurant Week which runs from Jan. 18 to Feb. 13.

The local businesses are offering a two-course lunch for $29 and a three-course dinner for $39 or $59, depending on the menu items.

In all, 21 Queens restaurants — in neighborhoods stretching from Astoria to the Rockaways — are serving multi-course meals at a discount as part of Restaurant Week.

The majority of participating borough restaurants are located in Astoria and Forest Hills, though there are also eateries in Woodhaven, Sunnyside, Long Island City, Jackson Heights and Averne partaking as well.

Diners can get deals on fresh seafood and French cuisine at Bar Marseille in Averne, classic New York pastrami at Queens Bully in Forest Hills, Indian dishes like butter chicken at Adda in Long Island City, prime-cut filet mignon at Meet the Meat in Astoria, Cuban vegetarian paella at Guantanamera Restaurant in Forest Hills or a taste of history at Neir’s Tavern in Woodhaven.

A 14-year-old boy was arrested for slashing a father who tried to defend his son during an after-school brawl near I.S. 192 in St. Albans on Wednesday afternoon.

Man wanted in sexual abuse case involving 12-year-old girl inside Elmhurst supermarket: NYPD

The NYPD’s Queens Child Abuse Squad is investigating a sexual abuse case involving a 12-year-old girl in Elmhurst on Thursday afternoon.

Police from the 110th Precinct reported that the youngster was inside a supermarket at 82-66 Broadway across the street from Moore Homestead Playground when a stranger approached her, touched the victim’s buttocks and then exited the location on foot in an unknown direction. The girl was not injured during the encounter, police said Friday.
