After decades of helping New Yorkers celebrate life’s biggest moments, Party City is throwing its final party—announcing the closure of all its stores, including its last two locations in Queens.
On Friday, Dec. 20, CEO Barry Litwin informed corporate employees during a meeting that the company would begin “winding down” operations immediately, marking the end of employment for its staff, according to CNN.
For nearly 40 years, Party City established itself as the nation’s largest and most recognizable party supply chain. The company currently operates 24 stores across New York City and Long Island.
