The police arrested a Queens man who allegedly beat and robbed a 53-year-old Filipino immigrant at a McDonald’s in midtown Manhattan Monday.

Rasheed Osundairo, 30, of Rosedale, allegedly punched his victim in the face while the man was trying to place an order at around 7:40 a.m. at a McDonald’s on Seventh Avenue.

Osundairo, according to police, demanded the man’s wallet before proceeding to punch him again and fling him against a wall—which knocked the victim down to the ground. He then kicked him in the head and grabbed the victim’s wallet and cellphone.

The victim, Melvin Dizon, sustained a severe head injury and was admitted at NYC Health + Hospitals/ Bellevue in critical but stable condition.

Dizon told the Daily News that he was just trying to order breakfast at the West 34th Street/7th Avenue McDonald’s on his way to work. He said that none of the customers in the restaurant came to his aid.

“I said, ‘Help, help, please call the cops,’” Dizon, a resident of New Jersey told the Daily News from his hospital bed. “I was hoping people were going to help me, but they didn’t … they were just watching and they didn’t get involved. I guess they’re scared.”

Osundairo, who lives at 147-07 249th St., was arrested Tuesday and charged with robbery. It isn’t clear why he was not charged with assault. The incident was not deemed a hate crime.

Osundairo has served prison time before—for attempted robbery. He was paroled in December 2016.

Bums me out this Filipino didn’t know a martial art. Asians not fighting back just adds to the stereotype that they’re push overs and easy to victimize.

there was a 76 year old that fought her attacker in California. if he wasn’t going to fight back then he should have given the guy his wallet. at the very least his beating would have been shorter.

He’s going to be out in a couple of weeks, NY is heaven for criminals and now even more with the “fantastic” bail reform.

Maybe fight back? McDonalds doesn’t pay enough for employees to fight your battles.

FDNY fights 2-alarm blaze in Rockaway Beach at BBQ joint with a rich history of a bygone era

The FDNY battled a two-alarm blaze at a restaurant in Rockaway Beach that stirred up some ghosts for residents of the neighborhood.

The fire broke out just after 7 p.m. at the Smoke and Barrel BBQ at 97-20 Rockway Beach Blvd., in the same location as the old Boggiano’s Bar and Grill. It stood for three-quarters of a century across from the entrance to Rockaway Beach’s Playland Amusement Park, which drew visitors from across the city to what was known as the Irish Riviera, an alternative to Coney Island on the Brooklyn side of Jamaica Bay.
