Mayor Eric Adams endorsed the re-election campaign of Queens District Attorney Melinda Katz on Thursday, just eight days before early voting gets underway for the June 27 Democratic primary.

The mayor noted her work making Queens safer while also addressing wrongful conviction and making the criminal justice system stronger.

New board members were voted-in at the 102nd Precinct Community Council Meeting, held inside the One Stop Richmond Hill Community Center, on 110-08 Jamaica Ave., in Richmond Hill, on Tuesday, June 6.    

Election night occupied the majority of the nightly meeting, although a general sense of tension could still be felt among guests and board members, especially after the last CC meeting. 

Mayor Eric Adams tore into city Comptroller Brad Lander Thursday, criticizing the city’s chief bean counter for not traveling to Washington D.C. to push the feds to provide more migrant crisis support.

During the tirade, Hizzoner said Lander, who’s frequently criticized the mayor’s handling of the migrant crisis, should have already gone to the nation’s capital to advocate for the city to get more funding for the influx — especially since Lander oversees the city’s finances.

Police from the 102nd Precinct in Richmond Hill and Transit District 20 are looking for a man who assaulted a woman who was waiting for a J train in Woodhaven last month.

The unprovoked attack occurred on the evening of Monday, May 22, when a 27-year-old woman was waiting on the southbound platform of the Woodhaven Boulevard station at around 7 p.m.

Resorts World New York City in South Ozone Park reopened RW Prime, the casino’s fine dining restaurant, with a new look and taste this past week.

As part of the United States Postal Service (USPS) National Dog Bite Awareness Week campaign, the Jamaica Main Post Office is educating customers on the importance of dog bite prevention. Last year, the neighborhood had four incidents of postal employees being bitten by dogs. 

On Wednesday, June 7, USPS Safety Specialist Giovanni Ortiz distributed fliers with dog bite prevention tips to customers at the post office, located at 88-40 164th St. 

Police from the 104th Precinct and the 33rd Transit District are searching for a crook who robbed a man of his backpack while on a Brooklyn bound L train Wednesday morning. 

Police say the 29-year-old victim was on the northbound L train that was approaching the Halsey Street subway station on the Queens/Brooklyn border at approximately 8:35 a.m. on June 7, when the crook approached the victim, snatched his bag and fled the station. The victim refused medical attention, police said. 

The NYPD on June 8 released video surveillance footage that shows an elderly man lurking in the hallway of a Briarwood apartment building and adjusting his face mask before allegedly breaking into one of its units and making off with electronics.
