The suspect and the 74th Street–Roosevelt subway station (NYPD and Google Maps)

A knife-wielding suspect allegedly stabbed a man multiple times on a subway train in Jackson Heights earlier this month – leaving the victim with part of the blade lodged in his face.
The assailant, believed to be in his late twenties or early thirties, got into an a dispute with the 23-year-old victim on board a southbound E train on April 2 as it was approaching the 74th Street–Roosevelt subway station at around 3:40 p.m.
The perpetrator then pulled out a knife and stabbed the victim in the face, stomach and hand, police said.
The unknown suspect got off the train at the 74th Street–Roosevelt subway station and fled the scene on foot, police said.
The tip of the suspect’s knife had broken off and became lodged in the victim’s face during the stabbing. He was transferred to NYC Health + Hospitals/Elmhurst in a stable condition where the blade was surgically removed, police said.
The attacker had initially been arguing with another straphanger on the train when the 23-year-old attempted to intervene. The suspect and the victim then got into a heated exchange which led to the stabbing, police said.
Police said the suspect has a slim build and was wearing a dark-colored jacket, dark pants and red sneakers.
The NYPD released video footage of the suspect walking along Broadway, in the vicinity of 77th Street, shortly after the incident.
