The New York City Sheriff Department busted a 200-plus-person party at a banquet hall in Ozone Park early Saturday.
Sheriff deputies shut down a party with more than 215 patrons inside the Queens Luxe, located at 106-09 Rockaway Blvd. around 1:37 a.m.
The party-goers were caught dancing, drinking alcohol and smoking hookah without following social distancing and mask-wearing requirements, according to reports.
Sheriff deputies issued summons to the venue owner and three employees for violating the state and city emergency orders related to COVID-19.
They also issued summons to the owner for illegal liquor sales and storage. In addition to flouting COVID-19 rules, the hall was operating without a liquor license.
Indoor arts and entertainment spaces can only operate at 25 percent of their maximum capacity under New York coronavirus guidelines. Patrons must also wear a mask or face covering at all times when they are not eating or drinking.
Queens Luxe has two event rooms which can host 250 guests in one and 160 in the other, according to its website.
The venue space could not be reached for comment.

What the hell is wrong with people?? Have they been living under a rock for the last almost 8 months? This is why certain areas are in orange and red zones and businesses have had to close (again) with no guarantee that they will be able to open again. I don’t care if these people who gather get sick. I feel bad for the healthcare workers who are exhausted beyond belief at this point.
