Police are searching for an alleged kidnapper who abducted a 7-year-old boy in front of a Long Island City school on Thursday afternoon, before dropping him off at his mother’s home just minutes later, according to a law enforcement source familiar with the investigation.
The NYPD released a photo of 37-year-old Naquan Aiken, who allegedly grabbed the youngster in front of Community School 111Q Jacob Blackwell School, located at 37-15 13th St. at 2:50 p.m.
Investigators believe Aiken is the former boyfriend of the youngster’s mother, and he might have had a change of heart, releasing him ten minutes after the abduction, according to an NYPD spokesman. The youngster was dropped of at his home and was unharmed, the spokesman said.
Aiken remains at large as of noon on Saturday, the spokesman said, adding that he had no additional update on the investigation. Information on the status of the ongoing investigation.
The NYPD released a photo of Aiken on Thursday night and described him as having a dark complexion with multiple facial and neck tattoos.
