Nov. 15, 2023 By Ethan Marshall Felony assaults have increased throughout Queens year-to-date, compared to the same period in 2022, according to the latest crime stats released by the NYPD. At the same time, grand larceny has been on the decline. Felony assaults were up 16.5% in northern Queens for the year through Nov. 12, rising from 2,184 in 2022 to 2,544 in 2023.  In southern Queens, felony assaults rose 5.8% for the year through Nov. 12, from 2,354 to 2,490. While much of it follows a similar trend to last week’s stats, there are some notable changes in trends. Rape cases in northern Queens rose from 15 to 20 year-over-year. Oct. 6, 2023 By Bill Parry Detectives from the 112th Precinct in Forest Hills arrested a 16-year-old boy Thursday morning and booked him for allegedly taking part in an armed robbery of a street vendor in August.
