Three people are dead after a fire tore through a house in Elmhurst early Saturday morning.

The FDNY received a call at 5:37 a.m. of a blaze inside a three-story house at 90-31 48th Ave. The fire had engulfed all three floors by the time firefighters had arrived, according to the FDNY officials.

Two people were found inside the house on the second floor unresponsive and unconscious. EMS pronounced the victims dead at the scene, according to FDNY.

A third person was discovered on the third floor, according to Thomas Richardson, FDNY Chief for Fire Operations. That person was also pronounced dead.

The FDNY was unable to provide details as to the identity of the victims.

Two other residents were injured in the fire, as well as two firefighters. They were all taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.

The house was completely destroyed by the blaze, with the roof collapsing and falling into the top floor.

The building had been subject to multiple complaints. The Department of Buildings issued a vacate order in February 2018 since the basement was rented without a permit.

The DOB website shows a long list of other complaints, with several stating that multiple people were living there—despite a vacate order.

Union and Quinn Sullivan agree to contract extension after breakout season

The Philadelphia Union and midfielder Quinn Sullivan have come to an agreement on a new contract, keeping Quinn at the club through 2027 with an option for 2028. The homegrown player just finished what was his best season in a Union kit, scoring five goals and contributing to 11 assists in 34 appearances. Sullivan became an important part of Jim Curtin’s side this season as well, starting in 25 of those 34 matches.

When looking at last season compared to this one, Quinn Sullivan had one of the biggest breakout campaigns on the entire squad. The 20-year-old went from appearing in 22 matches (7 starts) to appearing in 34 matches (25 starts). He brought his goal tally from two to five, and his assist tally from one to eleven.
