April 29 2020, By Michael Dorgan

Police are searching for three men who allegedly posed as cops in a failed attempt to steal firearms in Astoria earlier this month.

On Tuesday, April 14 at around 12:35 p.m., three suspects broke into a residential dwelling in the vicinity of 12th Street and 30th Drive, police said.

The suspects– who believed that there were guns in the house– told the occupants that they were police officers and demanded to know where the firearms were located, according to the NYPD.

The suspects failed to find the firearms and fled the scene without taking any property, police said.
