Jan. 8, 2021, By Michael Dorgan

Three suspects were arrested Friday after a man allegedly fired off a gun from a balcony in Jamaica.

Officers responded to reports of gunshots at 89-16 175th St. at around 9:25 a.m., police said. Witnesses say they heard at least three shots go off.

The police, upon arrival, entered into a protracted standoff with the suspects.

The NYPD’s Hostage Negotiation Team were dispatched to the scene, police said. The Emergency Services Unit was also called to the location.

Three suspects voluntarily surrendered about two hours later, police said. One suspect, a man wearing a red hoody, could be seen on video footage being put in an NYPD patrol car by police.

There have been no injuries reported and it is unclear what sparked the incident.
