Two young men driving through Astoria were ambushed and stabbed by a pair of assailants on an electric scooter Wednesday night.

The two men were driving a black sedan at around 8:30 p.m. down 30th Road near 23rd Street when two men on an electric scooter pulled up alongside the car and began attacking them, police said.

The assailants stabbed one of the men, 20, below his right eye and the other, 18, in his left arm and torso, police said.

The sedan then crashed into a concrete wall as the victims tried to flee. It’s unclear which victim was driving the sedan.

The 20-year-old was rushed to Elmhurst Hospital, where he is listed in stable condition, while the 18-year-old was rushed to Weill Cornell Medical Center where he is is in serious, but stable condition, police said.

The suspects took off on the scooter and abandoned it several blocks away.

Videos posted to the Citizen app show the victims’ crumbled vehicle on the sidewalk at the corner of 30th Road and 21st Street. The airbags had been deployed and police had roped off the street corner with crime scene tape.

It’s unclear what led to the assault. Police do not know if the victims knew their attackers at this point in the investigation.
