Police from the 115th Precinct in Jackson Heights are still looking for a pair of burglars who broke into a commercial establishment just over a month ago and hauled away a safe before driving off in two SUVs.
The duo entered through the rear door of BA Express USA, Inc. located at 37-17 74th St. at around 5:30 a.m. on Sunday, June 16. Once inside, they removed a safe from the premises and loaded it into one of the vehicles, police said. One of the burglars fled the location in a gray SUV while the other drove off in a black SUV, both heading southbound on 75th Street toward Roosevelt Avenue.
BA Express USA provides money transfer services to its customers in Jackson Heights, where 62% of its more than 181,000 residents are foreign-born, according to the NYU Furman Center for Real Estate and Urban Policy.
An NYPD spokeswoman was unable to provide details on what the safe contained. There are no arrests and the investigation remains ongoing.
The NYPD released surveillance images on Tuesday showing the getaway vehicles and one of the suspects who is described as having a light complexion and dark hair. He wore a beige t-shirt, blue jeans and sunglasses.

Through July 14, the 115th Precinct has reported 115 burglaries so far in 2024, 26 more than the 89 reported at the same point last year, an increase of 29.2%, according to the most recent CompStat report.
