Two People Shot Near Woodside Houses Monday, Including Bystander: NYPD

Two people were shot near the Woodside Houses Monday, including a bystander.

Three men fired several rounds near Broadway and 51st Street just before 8 p.m. The bullets struck a 31-year-old man in the back and grazed a bystander, a 44-year-old woman, in the back, police said.

An ambulance rushed both victims to Elmhurst Hospital, where they are in stable condition.

The NYPD released descriptions of three suspects.

All three are men are described as being in their early 20s and approximately 5 feet 10 inches tall, police said.

One was last seen wearing a green hooded sweatshirt with a decal, dark pants, white sneakers and a surgical mask.

A second was last seen wearing a multi-colored gray hooded sweatshirt, blue pants, white sneakers and a black mask.

A third was last seen wearing a black hooded sweatshirt with angel wings on the back, black pants, blue sneakers, beige satchel and a surgical mask.

It’s gonna be ok. Once the NYPD is disbanded, all these shootings and violent crime will stop completely. Everybody is going to be loving and good to each other. The drug dealers and gangs will become our heroes. Life will finally be good. LOL!!!

Students, faculty and staff at an elementary school in Jamaica were evacuated on Friday morning after a gas leak was detected nearby, officials said. The FDNY received a call just before 9 a.m. of a ruptured high-pressure gas main near P.S. 95 Eastwood, located on 179th Place between Hillside Avenue and Hillside Avenue.

“Out of an abundance of caution, this school is being evacuated to a nearby building due to an outside gas leak, off school property,” Department of Education spokeswoman Jenna Lyle said. “The school has communicated with families, FDNY is responding, and all students and staff are safe.”

An off-duty NYPD School Safety Agent was arrested and booked at the 103rd Precinct in Jamaica late last month after officers responded to a domestic dispute call at her St. Albans home.

Janet Williams, 54, of Elmira Avenue, was taken into custody on the evening of Monday, Sept. 30, and arraigned in Queens Criminal Court two days later on a criminal complaint charging her with menacing, criminal mischief, endangering the welfare of a child and criminal possession of a weapon.
