Nov. 15, 2023 By Ethan Marshall Felony assaults have increased throughout Queens year-to-date, compared to the same period in 2022, according to the latest crime stats released by the NYPD. At the same time, grand larceny has been on the decline. Felony assaults were up 16.5% in northern Queens for the year through Nov. 12, rising from 2,184 in 2022 to 2,544 in 2023.  In southern Queens, felony assaults rose 5.8% for the year through Nov. 12, from 2,354 to 2,490. Annual Toy Run delivers gifts for St. Mary’s Hospital for Children

Nov. 14, 2023 By Iryna Shkurhan More than 50 cars and motorcycles convened to deliver toys for patients at St. Mary’s Hospital for Children in Bayside.  The Nov. 12 event marked the 25th annual Toy Run held by the East Coast Car Association. The group gathered in Forest Park before heading to the hospital, where they filled up large bins with toys for the young patients. The association also presented the hospital with a donation towards their programs and services.
