A man was shot Tuesday afternoon during a wild daytime shootout near a playground in Woodside.

The shootout involved two men exchanging gunfire at around 3:20 p.m. on the corner of 65th Street and Broadway, which is directly across the street from Hart Playground.

One of the two men, identified as Tenzin Norgyal, 28, was shot in the shoulder by an unidentified individual who had gotten out of a black-colored Audi. The pair fired shots at each other before the Audi driver fled the scene in the vehicle, police said.

Police released video of Norgyal, of Middle Village, walking on the sidewalk moments before the gunfire erupted.

The video shows Norgyal arguing with the Audi driver as the vehicle slowly rounds the corner.

Seconds later the Audi stops and the driver gets out of the car to approach him.

Norgyal finds cover behind an outdoor dining fixture and fires his gun at the Audi driver, the footage shows. Norgyal, wearing a gray hoodie and shorts, can be seen with a gun in his right hand and a cigarette on his left. The outdoor dining area belongs to the Woodside Cafe.

The Audi driver then runs back to his car and grabs a gun before returning fire at Norgyal – striking him in the right shoulder.

The driver is then seen attempting to conceal his face with his shirt as he dashes back to his car again. He then flees the scene in the Audi northbound on 64th Street, police said.

Norgyal was transported privately to NYC Health & Hospitals/Elmhurst where he is listed as being in a stable condition.

Police have since arrested Norgyal and charged him with attempted murder. Police say he is a member of the TNT gang and has six prior arrests.

The NYPD said the shooting is not yet being considered gang-related, although the incident is still under investigation.

Meanwhile, the Audi driver is still on the loose and police describe him as being around 5 feet 6 inches tall, weighing around 150 pounds. He has a medium build with a medium complexion and short black hair. He was last seen wearing a red and white colored short-sleeved shirt, gray shorts and black sneakers with white trims.

Police also released images of the Audi used in the incident. Police say the Audi has a paper license plate.

Anyone with information in regard to this incident is asked to call the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or for Spanish, 1-888-57-PISTA (74782). The public can also submit their tips by logging onto the CrimeStoppers website at https://crimestoppers.nypdonline.org/.
