Aug. 9, 2022 By Michael Dorgan
Police have released video of a wild shootout involving five teenage boys in Jamaica Monday that left one of them injured with a gunshot wound.
The video shows a group of four teens – one wearing a ski mask and the three others in hoodies and face coverings – approaching a 17-year-old at around 5 p.m. outside a house at 150-42 118th Ave.
Two of the suspects can then be seen pulling out guns and firing at the 17-year-old.
The suspects, the video shows, continue blasting at the 17-year-old who runs to the other side of the road and then fires a bullet back at the group. The 17-year-old, who is blurred out in the video, was shot in the thigh.
The group then fled the scene to parts unknown, police said.
The 17-year-old was transported by EMS to Long Island Jewish Hospital in stable condition, according to police.
Police describe all four suspects as having dark complexions and slim builds.
There is no known motive for the shooting, cops said.
Anyone with information in regard to this incident is asked to call the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or for Spanish, 1-888-57-PISTA (74782). Wow blacks involved in a shoot out with illegal guns. Who knew it could happen in NYC? Sarcasm people. We’ve become the wild west where people are shooting wildly and randomly and innocent people are getting killed. Hey Eric – all of your friends that you’ve given jobs to, when are they going to do something for their salaries?
Was the 17 year old who was brought to LIJ for a gunshot wound arrested for his illegal handgun??
