Police have arrested a Whitestone man wanted for a fatal gang-related shooting that took place in Corona in June.

Omar Prado, 22, was cuffed by police Tuesday for allegedly gunning down 29-year-old Kelvin Gomez in broad daylight outside a deli on 108th street, police said.

Prado, a reputed member of the La Familia gang, has been charged with murder, criminal possession of a weapon and criminal use of a firearm, according to cops.

The shooting took place outside Corona’s Finest Grocery Corp., located at 57-18 108th St., on June 2 at around 5:10 p.m.

Prado allegedly snuck up behind Gomez and blasted him in the back of the head, police said. He then fled the scene on foot northbound on 108th Street.

Gomez was a member of the Trinitarios gang and was shot in retaliation for a previous robbery, according to cops. He lived just a few blocks from the deli.
