The police are investigating the death of a woman who was found dead with head injuries inside a stolen car near the Ravenswood Housing development in Astoria early Monday.

Police on patrol in the area received an alert about a stolen white Toyota Camry and came across the vehicle parked in front of 34-17 24th St. at around 2:10 a.m., police said.

Upon approaching the vehicle, police discovered the woman slumped over in the front passenger seat of the car with severe trauma to the head, cops said.

EMS responded to the scene and pronounced her dead at the location.

The Medical Examiner is determining the cause of death and an investigation is ongoing, police said.

The woman’s name and age has not been released, pending family notification.
