An instructor at a Woodside martial arts studio who raped a 12-year-old student last year has been sentenced to seven years in prison.

Hector Quinchi, 37, of Woodside, pleaded guilty in July to having sexual intercourse with a preteen student who took lessons from him at Hugo’s Tae Kwon Do Studio at 50-14 Skillman Ave.

Quinchi had intercourse with the girl on multiple occasions between Aug. 15 through Oct. 5, according to the Queens District Attorney’s office. The incidents took place at the school.

“This defendant was supposed to teach this youngster how to defend herself, but he was the one from whom she needed protection,” said Queens District Attorney Melinda Katz in a statement.

“He manipulated a child too young to consent to sex. The Court has sentenced him to prison for his reprehensible actions,” she added.

Quinchi pleaded guilty to rape in the first-degree and endangering the welfare of a child.

He was sentenced to 7 years in prison, to be followed by 10 years’ post release supervision. Quinchi will also be required to register as a sex offender.

Ridgewood mother and daughter arrested for attacking woman over parking spot: NYPD

A Ridgewood mother and daughter were arrested Monday after they ambushed a young Black woman who tried to park her car in a spot in front of their apartment building that they frequently cordon off with garbage cans and traffic cones.

A family friend was standing at the northeast corner of Onderdonk Avenue and Putnam Avenue at around 7:30 p.m. when the 21-year-old Jada McPherson tried to park her car in the spot. The man placed a garbage can in her way. She drove off and circled the block multiple times. She tried to pull into the same spot one more time, but the man tried to stop her again. McPherson got out of her car to confront him, and an argument ensued.
