Group of Six Steal 49-Year-Old Man’s Phone Onboard 7 Train in Corona

A group of six people surrounded a 49-year-old man onboard a 7 train last week and stole his iPhone in Corona.

Four men and two women gathered around the man on the train just before 1 a.m. on March 14. One of men pushed him into a seat, while others grabbed his iPhone 12 from his pocket, police said.

The group got off the subway at Junction Boulevard and fled with the phone. Police released photos of the suspects.

The victim wasn’t injured in the theft, police said.

A man was struck by a 7 train at the 111th Street subway station in Corona early Tuesday morning in an apparent suicide attempt.

It was the third incident on the 7 line in five days after a man was killed when he jumped in front of a Manhattan-bound train at the 103rd St.-Corona Plaza station on Thursday afternoon, and a 13-year-old boy was critically injured while subway surfing at the 111th St. station on Friday morning.
