March 14, 2022 By Michael Dorgan

Police are looking for a knife-wielding man who robbed a woman at the Queens Plaza subway station Sunday.

The incident comes just a little over two weeks since a homeless man brutally robbed and attacked a 57-year-old woman with a hammer as she walked down a flight of steps at the same station on Feb. 24. The alleged perpetrator in that case has been arrested.

The suspect in the latest incident allegedly approached a 31-year-old woman at around 5:45 a.m. as she too was walking down a flight of steps at an entrance to the Queens Plaza subway station.

The perpetrator in this case pulled out a knife before threatening her and demanding cash, police said.

The victim handed over $200 cash and the suspect then fled into the subway system. The woman was not injured, police said.

Police released a video of the suspect jumping over a turnstile at the station.

Anyone with information in regard to this incident is asked to call the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or for Spanish, 1-888-57-PISTA (74782). The public can also submit their tips by logging onto the Crime Stoppers website at https://crimestoppers.nypdonline.org/
