Man Carjacks Luxury Volvo in Williamsburg, Dumps Vehicle in Queens : NYPD

Police are searching for a man who carjacked a luxury Volvo in Williamsburg last week.

The suspect got into a woman’s white 2020 Volvo S60, which was parked outside 84 Withers St. on July 16 at around 5 a.m., and brandished an unidentified object, police said.

The woman, who was powering up her car, jumped out of the vehicle when she saw the man and fled.

The carjacker then sped off with the Volvo, police said.

The vehicle was recovered later that day at the Bay Terrace Shopping Center in Queens, police said.

The woman was not injured during the incident, police said.

Police released a video of the suspect taken in front of the Bay Terrace Shopping Center.

A Ridgewood mother and daughter were arrested Monday after they ambushed a young Black woman who tried to park her car in a spot in front of their apartment building that they frequently cordon off with garbage cans and traffic cones.

A family friend was standing at the northeast corner of Onderdonk Avenue and Putnam Avenue at around 7:30 p.m. when the 21-year-old Jada McPherson tried to park her car in the spot. The man placed a garbage can in her way. She drove off and circled the block multiple times. She tried to pull into the same spot one more time, but the man tried to stop her again. McPherson got out of her car to confront him, and an argument ensued.
