Police Looking for Pair Who Stole 69-Year-Old Woman’s Purse at Woodside Station

Suspects (NYPD)

Oct. 6, 2021 By Allie Griffin

A pair of thieves cut off a 69-year-old woman’s purse from her arm as she stood on a Woodside subway platform.

The duo demanded the older woman surrender her purse at the 69th Street-Fisk Avenue 7 train station on Sept. 24 at about 9 p.m.

When she refused, the pair pulled out a sharp object and cut the purse straps off her arm — and slashed her arm in the process, police said.

The suspects ran off with the woman’s bag and the victim was rushed to Elmhurst Hospital in stable condition.

Police described the male suspect as dark-skinned, approximately 30-years-old and 5 feet 6 inches tall. He was last seen wearing a black sweatshirt, black pants, and a dark-colored baseball cap. The female suspect was last seen wearing a light blue Adidas sweatshirt and light-colored jeans.

Anyone with information in regard to the identity of this male is asked to call the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or for Spanish, 1-888-57-PISTA (74782).
