Police Looking for Suspect Who Robbed Senior Inside Her Rego Park Building

Police are looking for a man who allegedly grabbed a senior by the neck and robbed her inside her Rego Park building Tuesday.

The suspect approached a 72-year-old woman as she was checking the mail in her building lobby near 64th Avenue and 98th Street at around 12:30 p.m., police said.

The man allegedly grabbed the woman by the neck from behind and demanded she hand over her valuables. He then grabbed her jewelry and $60 before fleeing the building in an unknown direction, police said.

The victim suffered some pain and bruising and was treated on the scene.

A Brooklyn man was killed in a high-speed chain-reaction crash near Spring Creek Park in Howard Beach on Tuesday night.

Police from the 106th Precinct in Ozone Park responded to a 911 call of a vehicle collision on the Belt Parkway and 79th Street at around 11:12 p.m. and found a 25-year-old man unconscious and unresponsive with trauma to the body. EMS responded to the scene and rushed him to Jamaica Hospital Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead, police said Wednesday. He was later identified as Nicolas Blagovisny of Stuart Street in Sheepshead Bay.
