A Taiwanese pop-up bakery has opened on Center Boulevard.
Bake Culture, which also has locations in China and Brunei, opened earlier this month on the ground floor of 47-05 Center Blvd., a 30-story residential tower. The company currently has three permanent locations in the U.S., one in Flushing and another in Manhattan — as well as one in Connecticut.
The Center Boulevard bakery is scheduled to be in operation for just two months although the company wants to secure a longer lease, according to Geoffrey Yao, Bake Culture’s chief operating officer. No matter, the company is looking to find a permanent space in Long Island City.

The pop-up is currently open for takeout only. There are no seats inside.
Customers can choose from a variety of pastries, croissants and cakes. The bakery also offers items such as “chocoholic” bread and “seashell” bread. The establishment also brews coffee and tea.
The company is not new to Long Island City. It had a pop-up store at 27-20 Jackson Ave. from Dec. 2020 to March 2021, according to Yao, and has also operated at 42-32 Crescent St.
In May, Teazzi Tea Shop in Court Square began selling some of Bake Culture’s food items.
The operating hours at the Center Boulevard location are from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Sunday.
The chain was founded in 2015 by Chun Wu, Vanness Wu and Calvin Chen, who are celebrities in Taiwan.
