While much of it follows a similar trend to last week’s stats, there are some notable changes in trends. Rape cases in northern Queens rose from 15 to 20 year-over-year. Oct. 13, 2023 By Bill Parry Police from two Queens precincts are looking for a creep who forcibly touched two women during the same afternoon on Oct.4, according to the NYPD. The first incident occurred in front of the Queens Center mall at around 1:20 p.m., as a woman was walking in front of 90-15 Queens Blvd. Police from the 110th Precinct in Elmhurst reported that the stranger approached the victim from behind and grabbed her rear end before running off in an unknown direction. Oct. 11, 2023 By Ethan Marshall While burglary cases continue to trend down, felony assault and grand larceny of automobiles have been on the rise from Sept. 10 to Oct. 8 when compared to the same time period as last year, according to the 28-day crime stats released by the NYPD for the precincts in northern and southern Queens. This continues a similar trend seen in the previous report, for Sept. 3 through Oct. 1.
